The Connecticut Marine Trades Association reports that, due to the Essex Boat Show scheduled for April 26-28, 2013, Amtrak has advanced its closure of the Old Lyme Draw to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013, for up to 5 days to replace the main gearbox. The bridge is expected to reopen to normal traffic on Wednesday, April 24, in the evening.

The bridge will be closed for the repairs, but the channel will remain open and be unobstructed for all navigation and it is hoped that the repairs may be completed earlier than the planned 5 days. The posted vertical clearance is 19′ at MHW.
