One Rescued, One Dead in Boston Harbor Capsize

Monday, Nov. 15: The Coast Guard reports that is has rescued one man and located another unresponsive man near the Boston Harbor Islands.

Coast Guard Sector Boston received notification at around 1:20 a.m. that the fishing vessel Jacquelyn Ann was overdue with 2 men on board. Boat crews were launched from Station Boston and Station Point Allerton, along with a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod.

The helicopter crew located one of the men at around 5:52 a.m. on Little Brewster Island. The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.
At around 8:00 a.m. the helicopter located the second man and guided the Point Allerton crew to the location. The victim was found unresponsive and taken to Station Point Allerton, where he was transferred to local EMS.

The rescued man said that his vessel had capsized at around 2:00 p.m., Nov. 14, 2010. The Jacquelyn Ann had left the Wessaguesset Yacht Club in Weymouth at noon on Sunday to retrieve lobster traps near Hull Gut.
