PETA Says Video Shows Cruel Treatment of Lobsters

Portland Press Herald: The controversial animal-rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals on Tuesday has identified a Maine lobster-processing facility that it claims was caught by undercover video using “a primitive and painful killing method.”
According to a press release, PETA will release a video at noon (September 17) that it says was secretly shot earlier this year by a PETA employee who worked briefly at Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster in Rockland. The footage shows, among other things, live lobsters being ripped apart by hand. The video is on the organization’s website.
