Thieves Strike Connecticut Marinas
October 19, 2010
According to a report in the New Haven Register, a thief or thieves have stolen tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of navigation and fishing equipment in a rash of boat break-ins in Clinton and other Connecticut marinas.
In 3 cases, the would-be burglar fled when surprised by boat owners sleeping aboard their vessels, according to police.
Investigation of the burglaries has been hampered because police often receive reports of the thefts several days after the event, according to Clinton police chief Todd Lawrie.
