Plum Island Whale-Watch Boat Co. to Dredge Around Docks
April 20, 2016
The Charos family, owners of a popular whale-watch and fishing-boat fleet on Plum Island, was given permission to dredge around its docks at Plum Island Point. The water depth below the docks is currently only around three feet at low tide, according to George Charos, which is too shallow for the company’s large vessels. State conservation officials determined that a small, emergency dredge would not harm wildlife.
