New England Boating spoke with Plymouth, MA, harbormaster Chad Hunter on Thursday, March 19, for a status report on Plymouth Harbor. According to Hunter, most of the thick ice was broken up and blown out of the inner harbor on Sunday, allowing the local shellfishermen to get out.

Hunter also reported that a gangway and its hinges had suffered some damage during the winter, and that the big storm surge in January had flooded the parking lot, moving the floats that had been stacked there. Hunter and his crew have yet to inspect the floats for damage, but he does not foresee a delay to the opening of the ramp in time for the start of the recreational boating season.
