Port Jefferson Boatbuilding Competition a Success

Times Beacon Record: Contestants had just four hours, a few sheets of plywood, wood strips, cable ties and glue to build their boats, but they raced in style.

Ten teams competed in the second annual Ultimate Quick and Dirty Build-a-Boat & Race in Port Jefferson on Saturday and Sunday (August 25-26] at Harborfront Park. Many of them were sponsored by local businesses.
