Bangor Daily News: A reported sighting of a great white shark off the coast of Maine on Sunday led police to call swimmers out of the water in Wells, according to Portland television station WCSH.

Wells police Sgt. Chad Arrowsmith told the station a man on a paddleboat said he saw what he believed to be a 12’ great white shark in the water between Wells Beach and North Beach just after 1:00 p.m., and authorities cleared the water as a precaution.
