Project Tracks Changes to Cape Cod Shoreline
August 25, 2013
A Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies project underway along the Cape Cod Bay shore is the latest of the center’s efforts to quantify the movement of sediment along the bay: to determine the sand’s predominant direction, rate and volume of movement, according to an article in the Cape Cod Times.
For the bay project, coastal geologists started in North Truro in 2012, and then added a second section by looking at Provincetown Harbor earlier this year. They are now focused on studying from North Truro to Jeremy Point in Wellfleet.
