Rare Turtle Nesting Area Protected on Cape Cod

Diamondback terrapins, the only estuarine turtles in North America, are being protected in Eastham, MA, now that the town has purchased 1.6 acres of prime terrapin nesting grounds along the Herring River marsh.

According to the Cape Cod Times, the Raphaelson family sold the land at a reduced rate to protect the turtle habitat.
