Review: Hobie Mirage Sport Kayak

The new Hobie Mirage Sport is a lightweight, compact kayak that will handle a wide range of activities. Anglers will appreciate the 2 built-in rod holders, quiet hull design, and the Lowrance Ready System, which makes it easy to install electronics such as a fishfinder and plotter. Sailors, both experienced and beginners alike, will enjoy the diversity offered by the optional sail kit.

Hobie-Mirage-Sport_2The Mirage Sport features Hobie’s MirageDrive pedal propulsion system, which keep the user’s hands free for eating, drinking, fishing, taking photos or holding binoculars.

The Sport’s rugged, lightweight, rotomolded polyethylene hull encourages easy tracking and beaching, while the retractable rudder system is engaged and disengaged with a simple pull of the T-shaped control handles. An adjustable high back padded seat with an inflatable lumbar support provides hours of comfort. The Twist and Seal hatches and the rear cargo area with bungee tie downs provide ample storage. Utility trays, map pockets and drink holders complete the package.
