Nauset Marine of Cape Cod recently launched a new custom pilothouse version of its popular 25-footer for a customer in Bermuda. The Lezlie Anne is based on Nauset’s proven full-keel, solid-glass hull, and is powered by a 260-hp Yanmar turning a 17” wheel through a ZF V-drive. Cruise is 18 to 20 knots at 2800 rpm.
The boat’s bronze skeg and large rudder provides outstanding low-speed maneuverability, while a SidePower SE60 series bow thruster assists in docking and close-quarters maneuvering.
A single 125-gallon fiberglass tank is located amidship, creating a low center of gravity for increased stability in a seaway. Numerous storage areas are available in the small cuddy, which also includes room for a head, the batteries and interior console access.
The engine room is insulated with Soundown lead/foam noise-reducing blankets and features a removable enclosure for full access. The helm features equipment from Teleflex, Morse, Garmin, Icom and Imtra. Wynne windows and Wise double-swiveling helm seats are other custom features.
The hull, molded by Sea Glass technologies of Rhode Island, is made of solid glass with a Vinylester first layer. All other parts are finished in-house at Nauset Marine.
Nauset Marine has been building boats since the 1970s, with current models ranging from 21’ to 38’. In addition to serving as one of the world’s largest independent Boston Whaler dealers, Nauset also sells Eastern and Hurricane boats, with 3 locations serving Cape Cod and the Islands and Southeastern Massachusetts.
