Rhode Island Poachers Nabbed
September 24, 2020
After recently receiving a tip that poachers were keeping undersized fish along the bulkhead in the Port of Galilee, RI Environmental Police Officers from DEM’s Division of Law Enforcement conducted a patrol of the area.
After a period of surveillance, officers arrested two poachers and charged them with possession of undersized black sea bass, exceeding the daily limit of black sea bass, and possession of undersized scup.
With the start of fall fishing season, anglers are encouraged to report suspected poaching violations by calling the DEM’s 24/hour dispatch at center at (401) 222-3070.
