RI Bridge Project Delayed by Turtles

EastByaRI.com reports that replacement of the White Church Bridge in Barrington, Rhode Island, has been delayed due to its potential effect on the migration of rare diamondback terrapins, an estuarine turtle that nests in Hundred Acre Cove.

According to Rhode Island Department of Transportation Spokeswoman Heidi Gudmundson, state officials must address some environmental concerns before they can set a date to advertise the construction project.
