RI Wants Cables Removed from State Beaches
August 21, 2015
Rhode Island environmental officials say they are confident that no cables like the ones suspected of causing an explosion at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett last month are lurking under Rhode Island sand.
But they aren’t taking any chances either.
According to an article on ProvidenceJournal.com, Governor Raimondo has asked the U.S. Coast Guard to remove any abandoned electrical cables still near the beach or any others that may have escaped detection.
