Sabre 40 Sedan is Fast, Comfortable

The Sabre 40 Sedan cruises at 25 to 30 mph.

Sabre’s new 40 Sedan cruiser reflects the builder’s traditional craftsmanship in both fiberglass and wood, while incorporating new construction techniques and a modern pod-drive system.

The semi-V hull with lifting strakes is built of bi-axial E-glass and Airex foam core, infused with resin for a stronger, lighter hull. Power is provided by Zeus pod drives driven by twin 380-hp Cummins B-Series common-rail, electronic diesels with excellent soundproofing. It all adds up to a comfortable vessel that cruises efficiently and quietly at 25 to 30 mph. The boat also handles like a sports car at cruising speeds, and parks just as easily with the Zeus joystick control.

The 40 Sedan features well-thought-out interior space, with an airy salon that includes side-by-side Stidd helm and companion seats and a dinette. The well-equipped galley is half-down and open to the salon. Forward of the galley is a full head/shower to port, with a guest cabin/office to starboard. The master stateroom offers a comfortable queen berth with abundant storage. The extensive cabinetwork in teak, holly, and cherry is first-rate. An Onan 9 kW generator drives the 120VAC electrical system, while the space-saving Zeus pod drives allow installation of an optional compact washer-and-dryer combo in the engine room.
