Sandwich, MA Chases Beach Restoration Money
September 19, 2014
Tucked into a $2.2 billion environmental bond bill signed into law by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick August 13, 2014, is $5 million earmarked for beach restoration at Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, Massachusetts. But just because funding is included in a bond bill doesn’t mean the town can get immediate access to the cash, according to an article on CapeCodOnline.com.
Getting the project included in the bond bill is only part of the process. The next part is persuading the governor’s administration and finance department to put money behind the earmark.
