The extended July 4 (2013) weekend was the busiest in the 30-year history of Sea Tow Services International, Inc., according to a company press release.

Sea Tow’s national 24/7 Dispatch Center, together with its individual locations across the U.S., reported a 12% increase in calls for on-water assistance during the 5-day weekend from July 3-7, 2013, over calls reported during the 5-day holiday period from July 2-6, 2012.

As usual, the number-one assistance request reported by Sea Tow during the July 4 holiday period was for boat tows. This was followed by fuel delivery and jumpstarts in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, with ungroundings running a close 4th. In addition, more than 38% of Sea Tow Captains across the country provided a salvage or recovery service during the long weekend.
