Seafood Prices Expected to Rise After Fishery Cuts

But don’t expect those prices to last, Chris Higson said.

“The prices are going up,” Higson said. “You can count on that.”

The New England Fishery Management Council voted Wednesday to cut the amount of cod that can be fished from the Gulf of Maine by 77% and from Georges Bank by 61%. The cuts are to take effect on May 1.
