November 13, 2015
The Portland Press Herald reports that authorities in Portland, Maine, have suspended the search for a missing Cape Elizabeth water taxi captain after scouring Casco Bay with airplanes and boats for a second day.
Missing is Adam Patterson, 30, who last spoke with his wife at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday and has not been heard from since.
A Maine Marine Patrol release says that security video shows Patterson leaving DiMillo’s Marina at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday aboard the 24’ boat that he operates for Portland Express Water Taxi. Curiously, Patterson left behind 2 personal cell phones.
Weather conditions at dawn on Wednesday were winds from the northeast at 20 to 30 mph with 40 mph gusts. Seas were 5 to 8 feet.
