Seaweed Clogs Maine Beach
August 28, 2014
York, Maine’s Parks and Recreation Department is trying to rid Long Sands Beach of an invasive seaweed, but more than a week later it remains a stinky nuisance for both beachgoers and residents, according to an article on SeacoastOnline.com.
Town employees are raking the seaweed, which is more than 2’ thick, off the dry sand down to the ocean for Mother Nature to do the work of taking it out with the tide.
