Septic Systems Blamed in Falmouth, MA, Fish Kill
July 27, 2012
CapeCodOnline: Septic systems near Little Pond were likely the cause of what town officials call one of the larger fish kills in Falmouth’s recent history.
Late last week and during the weekend, residents in the Falmouth Heights area began alerting the town Department of Natural Resources about a foul odor coming from the water, Chuck Martinsen, acting department director, said.
Little Pond is one of several finger-shaped estuaries along Falmouth’s south shore on Nantucket Sound west of Waquoit Bay.
