Shark-Bitten Seal Washes Ashore on Cape Cod

MyFoxBoston.com: Some beaches in Chatham have been closed due to shark sightings and now, more evidence of the presence of sharks on Cape Cod.
This photo of a seal (above) washed ashore after being bitten by a shark was taken near Monomoy Island.
Marine biologist and shark expert Dr. Greg Skomal says that the bite comes from a Great White shark. Based on the diameter of the bite, Dr. Skomal believes the shark is 14’ to 16’ long.
