Shark Sighting at Nauset Shuts Down Beach
June 10, 2013
CapeCodOnline: Nauset Beach was closed for an hour Sunday [June 9] after the first reported great white shark sighting of the year off Cape Cod’s sandy shoreline.
A senior Orleans lifeguard spotted a dorsal fin about 150 yards off the beach at about 10:15 a.m., Orleans Harbormaster Dawson Farber said.
“The shape and color of the fin led him to believe that it was in fact a white shark,” Farber said.
