SI-TEX EC Plotters Offer Advanced Functions
August 25, 2010
SI-TEX has introduced a new family of multifunction chartplotting units that combine the latest C-Map MAX cartography and plotting features, along with high-level fishfinding and radar capabilities.
The EC series includes 3 models—the EC-5, EC-7 and EC-11—to cover any size vessel, from skiffs to trawlers. Each machine features waterproof construction for flexible mounting options, daylight-viewable color LCD displays and powerful C-Map MAX charting functions, including anti-grounding alarm, flashing NavAids, aerial photos of inlets and harbors, dynamic tide and current predictions, and detailed ports and roads information. Powerful internal processors ensure instant screen redraws and seamless presentation of chart detail when scrolling, panning or zooming.
The compact EC-5 ($500) features a 5” QVGA color display and a choice of internal or external GPS antenna. It is available with a built-in 600W 50/200 kHz sounder and storage for 5,000 waypoints, 25 routes of up to 50 waypoints each and 5,000 track points.
The EC-7 ($1,069) boasts a 7” high-definition WVGA color display and is offered with an internal or external GPS antenna and optional 600 W dual-frequency color sounder. With the ability to store 10,000 waypoints/marks, 50 routes of up to 50 waypoints each and 10,000 track points, the EC-7 is ideal for serious cruising, sailing or fishing duty. When combined with the optional MDS radar sensor, the EC-7 becomes a powerful, all-in-one navigation/fishfinding center. The EC-7 also features a composite video input for use with external cameras.
The EC-11 ($2,099) provides navigation and sounder data on a high-definition 10.4” SVGA display, and is ideal for midsized to larger cruisers, trawlers and sportfishermen. Designed for integration with SI-TEX’s powerful black-box sounder module and optional MDS radar sensor (with choice of radome or open-array antenna), the EC-11’s performance and large screen allow for flexible presentation of important data. It provides storage for 10,000 waypoints/marks, 50 routes of 50 waypoints each and 10,000 track points. The EC-11 also features 2 composite video inputs and a VGA video output for flexible integration with cameras, entertainment systems and other onboard electronics.
Each EC unit is compatible with SI-TEX’s black-box AIS receiver for enhanced safety when traveling at night or in the fog.
