Singles Sailing Club Seeks New Members
April 20, 2011

The Shoreline Sailing Club (SSC) was formed in 1981 when 2 single women who loved to sail needed crew. Thirty years later, the group has grown to over 300 members from all over Connecticut, Rhode Island and beyond. SSC welcomes new members, both novices or experienced skippers and crew. The group has over 60 skippers seeking crew for their boats.
Although SSC’s primary mission is sailing, it holds a wide range of social and recreational activities throughout the year. The summer is filled with day and sunset sails, weekend sails and a weeklong cruise. During the off-season, SSC members have sailed in Greece, British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Grenadines and St. Vincent’s. Throughout the year SSC holds parties, group trips, dances, kayaking, golfing, skiing, geocaching events, hiking, theater events, dinners and brunches, and “docksides”—small parties and gatherings in members’ homes.
Meetings are held twice a month, on the first and third Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. There is a complimentary light buffet and a cash bar available.
