Stamford, CT, Parade of Lights this Weekend
November 23, 2011

The 6th Annual Parade of Lights will be held in Stamford Harbor, Connecticut, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26. Members of the boating public are welcome to join in the fun by decorating their boats. An application can downloaded here: Boat Parade Application (PDF).

The parade will begin at Czescik Marina on the East Branch of the harbor and proceed through the hurricane barrier before returning to the harbor and entering the West Branch. The parade will end at the Crab Shell, at the north end of the harbor after Stamford Landing Marina.
The parade can be viewed from one of the many locations, including Stamford Landing Marina, the Harbor Point waterfront, Avalon boardwalk, and Harbor Drive.
Following the parade, the festivities continue with an awards celebration and party at the Crab Shell Restaurant. There will be live music and entertainment both inside and outside, and the majority of the decorated boats will congregate at the Stamford Landing Marina and Crab Shell docks to await their scores from the judges. Many awards are given to the boaters including “Best Overall” and “Most Outrageous”.
The Stamford Harbor Parade of Lights will benefit The US Marine Corps Reserve charity “Toys for Tots”, and The Young Mariners Foundation, a Stamford non-profit dedicated to increasing academic and life skills achievement of low-income students through after-school and summer programs. In the spirit of the holidays, attendees are urged to bring an unwrapped gift in support of Toys for Tots, to the toy-drop location at Crab Shell Restaurant.
