Stellwagen Bank Sanctuary Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary will be celebration its 20th year anniversary in 2012, and to honor the event a lecture series will be held at the Gloucester Maritime Center in Gloucester, Massachusetts. All lectures begin at 7:00 p.m., and are free to the public.
The lecture series will present new data, rarely seen underwater footage and stunning photography will be provided by the following experts:
- March 22: A Whale’s Tale of Life on Stellwagen Bank, Jamison Smith
- March 29: Between the Arms of Cape Cod and Cape Ann: A History of Fishing on Stellwagen Bank, William Leavenworth and Karen Alexander
- April 5: Seabirds of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Wayne Petersen and Anne-Marie Runfola
- April 12: The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary – Its Future, Les Kaufman
- April 19: Whale Whisperer: Using Sound to Understand and Protect Whales in the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Leila Hatch
- April 26: Shipwrecks of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Matt Lawrence
