Stingray 215LR: Feature-Packed Family Boat
February 2, 2011
Stingray’s new 215LR is a well-thought-out, easy-to-trailer sportdeck design with family features galore. The wide 8’ 4” beam allows Stingray to pack the boat with plenty of amenities, including an enclosed head with a vent and self-contained holding tank (rare for a 21-footer); a giant sunpad; a large indeck storage compartment for holding skis, lifejackets and wakeboards; a freshwater shower/washdown and a roomy bow area for lounging or entertaining.
The cockpit features a cushioned transom bench, as well as speakers and a small table and sink to starboard. Below the sink area is a recessed space for a portable cooler. There is ample space for moving forward between the consoles to the bow area, which features U-shaped seating, a bevvy of recessed cup holders, speakers and a stanchion-mounted table. The table can be replaced by filler cushions to turn the whole bow into a giant lounge area. The helm features a tilt steering wheel, a compass in front of the analog backlit gauge cluster, and a switch panel with circuit breakers.
