Stonington Lighthouse Museum Offering Special Tours, Rates

The Old Lighthouse Museum of Stonington, Connecticut, is offering special tours and admission rates this month.

The Battle of Stonington, the history of the lighthouse, the town’s maritime industries, icemaking and the Stonington’s historical importance as a railroad and steamship hub are a focus of the tours.

Two temporary exhibits—The Raven’s Wing, the story of Captain York of Westerly, and “Steaming Out of Stonington”—will also be featured.

Guided tours of the museum will be held at noon on Mondays and Fridays.

Special admission (offered Tuesdays during October):

  • $5 adults
  • $3 children

Standard admission

  • $9 adults
  • $6 children

Admission includes a free pass to the Captain Palmer House.

Hours:

  • 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., daily through October; weekends in November.
