Storm Uncovers 18th Century Shipwreck in York, ME

The curious are flocking to Short Sands Beach in York, ME, to see the remains of an 18th Century shipwreck that was uncovered during the recent nor’easter. The wreck is periodically revealed by large storms.

Archaeological work conducted in 1980 indicated the wreck is a Revolutionary-era sloop once common along the coast of Maine.
