Striper Poachers Busted in Gloucester, MA

The Gloucester Times reports on a May 28 seizure of 13 undersized striped bass by the Massachusetts Environmental Police (EPO). Acting on a tip, EPO officers responded to an area near Rafes Chasm in Magnolia, MA, where they observed 10 individuals fishing and depositing their catch in garbage bags among the rocks.
When an officer approached the group, all but one fisherman fled. The remaining fisherman was detained and the fish were confiscated and donated to the Open Door food pantry. The 13 undersized striped bass ranged in size from 14” to 25”.
