Stuck Tug Returns to Home Port
March 12, 2012
SeacoastOnline: More than 2 weeks after nearly capsizing in the waters below the Memorial Bridge [in Portsmouth, New Hampshire], the tugboat that somehow struck the bridge is headed back to its home port.
Lt. Nathaniel Robinson of the Marine Safety Detachment said the investigation into what caused the Miss Stacy to strike the bridge and take on water is ongoing. Robinson said the tug left for the Virginia-based Seaward Marine Corporation on Tuesday, March 6. It had been docked at the Isles of Shoals Steamship Co. since the February 21 incident.
