Student to Study Ipswich, MA, Oyster Decline

Salem News: For Chris Baille, the oyster is his world. And he wants to know where they all went. A third-year doctoral candidate at Northeastern University’s Marine Science Center in Nahant, he has won the permits to conduct a study on the plight of the oyster in Ipswich.
Baille, 27, concedes that oysters aren’t really the thing in clam-crazy Ipswich, but he believes his program, which comes at no cost to the town, can provide helpful information in the fight against shellfish predators in general.
