Study Examines CT’s Deep-Water Ports

New Haven Register: Scrap-metal exports from the Port of New Haven, wood pellet exports from the Port of New London and lumber, copper, steel and food imports into both ports are among a number of areas in which the state could expand the economic activity of its deep-water ports, a study has found.
But many of the reasons for the decline of the state’s 3 deep-water ports in recent years are beyond the state’s capacity to fix, the study says.
