Thimble Islands Residents Vote to Save Ferry Service

New Haven Register: Thimble Islands property owners, in a historic move to shore up ferry service that has connected the rocky, windswept islands to the Stony Creek mainland for well over a century, voted Saturday to form a new special tax district to help support continuing ferry service.
In the end, it wasn’t even close. The final vote was 51-4—albeit not before a fair amount of debate in the Church of Christ Congregational Fellowship Hall.
