Vessel Sinks at Nantucket Pier
March 24, 2011
The Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror reported on a 42-foot commercial clamming vessel that sank at the town pier late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
The boat was refloated Tuesday with the help of a crane barge and was headed to Grey Lady Marine for repairs.
Harbormaster Dave Fronzuto said the boat likely sank when it became pinned against the pier as the tide rose, forcing water through the scuppers.
