Video: New England Opti Racers Enjoy Great Weather, Sailing

New England Boating dropped by the 2011 New England Opti Championships, hosted by the Beverly Yacht Club in Marion, Massachusetts, and captured some of the fun and excitement during the 3-day event. Over 300 junior sailors from as far away as Canada and California competed in the races, held in Sippican Harbor in upper Buzzards Bay.

Results:

  • Taking First Place in the Red Fleet (112 boats) with 19 points overall was Wade Waddell of the Lauderdale Yacht Club in Florida.
  • First Place in the Blue Fleet (141 boats) with 57 points went to Cooper Yaeger of the Stamford Yacht Club in Connecticut.
  • First Place in the White Fleet (42 boats) with 321 points was Dylan Ascencios (no club listed).
  • First Place in the Green Fleet (all boats) with 43 points was Mad Dog Tregenza of the Conanicut Yacht Club in Rhode Island.
