In June 2012 I visited Vineyard Haven Harbor, in the town of Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard. Vineyard Haven is the commercial hub of the island and has the most to offer visiting boaters in terms of dockage, moorings and amenities, plus there are several good restaurants and interesting shops ashore.
In the accompanying video we get a boater’s tour of the harbor courtesy of Ian Ridgeway, captain of the Black Dog Tall Ship Alabama. Ridgeway has worked on the Black Dog ships for 15 years, so we couldn’t ask for a more qualified guide. We are grateful he took time out to show us around and provide some important information on the things you need to know if you’re planning to bring your boat to this beautiful and historic harbor.
