New England Boating host Tom Richardson explores a maritime historical treasure in a city known for its maritime historical treasures, New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Tom gets a tour of the Ernestina, a schooner built in 1894 that is docked at New Bedford’s State Pier along the downtown waterfront. The Ernestina served as fishing vessel, was used to explore the Arctic, and was the last ship of sail to bring immigrants to America. Meanwhile, host Parker Kelley is treated to songs by the New Bedford Harbor Sea Chantey Chorus.
