Vineyard Man Pleads Guilty to Drunk Boating

Cape Cod Times: An Edgartown man was sentenced to 2½ years in jail Thursday [Dec. 17] after he pleaded guilty to operating a boat drunk in October. Douglas Dexter, 51, pleaded guilty in Falmouth District Court to operating a boat under the influence, third offense; resisting arrest; assault and battery on a police officer; and intimidating a witness, according to court documents.
Dexter was arrested Oct. 24 by Falmouth police after people who were parked near the Tides Motel on Falmouth Harbor reported that Dexter was knocking on car windows and telling people to leave because he was conducting an investigation, according to the police report.
