Volunteers Sought for 2012 Cape Cod Canal Cleanup

The 12th annual AmeriCorps Cape Cod Canal Clean-Up will be held Saturday, April 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. AmeriCorps and the Army Corps of Engineers will host the event.
Volunteers will meet at the base of the Railroad Bridge at the recently improved Buzzards Bay Recreation Area off of Main Street in Buzzards Bay. In addition to cleaning up trash along the Canal, volunteers will have the opportunity to paint a mural, maintain a trail, build a rain garden, and install signage and dog waste bag dispensers. There will also be a variety of environmental educational booths and demonstrations.
Free bagels and coffee will be provided for breakfast, as well as pizza for lunch.
