Watershed Alliance Invites Public to Tour Center

The Westport River Watershed Alliance will open the doors at its new River Center location at the Head of Westport, on Thursday, August 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to come in and see this historically significant building and view drawings and plans for the renovation and restoration of the old “Head Garage” in the Town Landing area.

The building was purchased in 2014, and since then they’ve been developing plans to transform the building from its present condition into a new headquarters and public education center in this environmentally significant location on the riverfront.

Working together for clean water and a healthy river community at its new location on the river, the group’s mission is to empower the public with the knowledge, well-researched scientific data, and practical solutions to address the challenges of water resource protection, restoration, conservation, and sustainability.
