Whitefield, ME, Residents Vote to Remove Coopers Mill Dam

Lincoln County News: With only scattered votes in opposition, Whitefield [Maine] residents overwhelmingly voted to remove the Coopers Mills Dam at the annual town meeting Saturday, March 19.
Voters also authorized selectmen to negotiate a contract for the installation of a solar array to power Whitefield’s municipal buildings, and voted to join the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program after passing a floodplain management ordinance.
