Wicked Tuna Reality Show Debuts on TV

Ralph Wilkins, captain of the Provincetown-based Odysea, says the battle to reel in a 500-pound bluefin is only part of the drama of National Geographic Channel’s new series “Wicked Tuna.”
“What will make this story interesting are relationships with friends,” says Wilkins, who splits his time between a Truro [Massachusetts] cottage colony and the winter home he recently built in Cooperstown, New York.
“There’s always the competition factor, always the jealousy factor,” he says. “Me and Billy on the Bounty Hunter, we tell each other everything. Dave on the Tuna.com, he’s our friend, but we expect him to lie to us.”
“Wicked Tuna” airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. through June 3 on the National Geographic Channel.
