“Wicked Tuna” Star Receives Probation in Fraud Case

Salem News: Gloucester fisherman Paul Hebert, a cast member on the “Wicked Tuna” fishing reality show, was sentenced Wednesday [June 8] in federal court in Vermont to 4 years probation, fined $5,000 and ordered to pay more than $53,560 in restitution for Social Security and Medicaid fraud.

With the exception of the $5,000 fine and a $200 special charge, the sentence imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Christina Reiss in Burlington, Vermont, mirrors the sentencing recommendations federal prosecutors developed after Hebert, 51, pleaded guilty in January to the charges as part of a plea agreement.
