10 Rescued from Grounded Boat in Norwalk Harbor

RESCUED

The Hour: Ten people were rescued Friday afternoon [July 1] after a small motorboat got stuck in mud off Veterans Park.

There were no injuries, but it took police and Fire Department marine units about 2 hours to shuttle the people—8 kids and 2 counselors from the nearby Shore and Country Club—off the boat.

The Norwalk Fire Department’s Marine Unit 238 staged at a dock off Cove Avenue, and the Police Department’s Marine Unit sent a small Zodiac boat out to grounded vessel.
