2 Boats Sink Off Cape Cod After Heavy Rain

CapeCodOnline: Heavy rainfall may have caused 2 boats to sink within a few hours of each other on Thursday afternoon, a fire department official said.

At 2:27 p.m., a 20’ boat was found almost completely submerged at a Bourne Marina slip in Buzzards Bay, Deputy Fire Chief Dave Cody said. There was a gasoline spill but firefighters contained it with absorbent booms, he said. At 5:23 p.m., a 30’ vessel was found swamped about 80 yards off the shoreline on a mooring near 426 Scraggy Neck Road.
