2 Rescued From Water in Lobster Cove, MA

Coast Guard rescue crews from Station Gloucester rescued two people from the water in Lobster Cove, Annisquam, MA, Tuesday.
A good Samaritan notified watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Boston Command Center at 11:20 p.m., reporting that two people were clinging to a dinghy in Lobster Cove. The Coast Guard launched a Station Gloucester 25-foot response boat crew and an Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter crew.
The Station Gloucester crew arrived on scene at 11:52 p.m. and rescued the two people from the water. They were transported back to land to awaiting EMS.
“The two people were trying to go from their sailboat to their dinghy and fell in the water,” said Jay Woodhead, the command duty officer at Sector Boston. “We were able to get them to safety in just a little over a half hour from the time we got the call.”
