2 Rescued in Casco Bay

Two men estimated to be in their late 20s were rescued by crew of the Casco Bay ferry on Saturday afternoon (May 11) when their canoe apparently capsized in choppy waters.

The ferry was returning from Peaks Island when a crewmember spotted 2 persons in the water next to an overturned canoe. The men were wearing PFDs, and managed to climb aboard the ferry using a ladder that was lowered to them. There was no word on how long the men were in the water, which was 47 degrees.
